Lake Qaroun

Lake Qaroun, located in Al-Fayoum, Egypt, served as the inspiration for the stunning photography project known as Sunset Oasis. Renowned photographer Mohamed Abdelrahman embarked on a journey to immortalize the secrets and history of this picturesque landmark.

Abdelrahman's unique approach to capturing the essence of Lake Qaroun sets Sunset Oasis apart from other photography projects. With his DSLR Pro Camera Canon 5D mark lll and 24/105 lens, he meticulously documented the lake's beauty and power.

One of the most memorable experiences that inspired Abdelrahman was a fishing trip with his father on Lake Qaroun. As they sailed on a boat, he witnessed the sun's rays reflecting on the water, creating a breathtaking scene. The day ended with a delicious meal cooked on the lake's shore, as they watched the sun slowly disappear behind the nearby houses. The taste of the fish and the view of the lake left an indelible mark on Abdelrahman's memory.

Abdelrahman faced numerous challenges during the realization of Sunset Oasis. He traveled to different cities, patiently waiting for the perfect moment to capture the lake's beauty. His manual technique, combined with the use of various sun options, allowed him to create truly remarkable images.

The Sunset Oasis project received the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2019 in the Photography and Photo Manipulation category. This award recognizes designs that demonstrate innovation, practicality, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. Abdelrahman's work not only showcases his technical prowess but also contributes to a better world by evoking feelings of fulfillment and awe.
